K800i vs KP500(LG Cookie)

Log start: 3:50pm February 25th 2009

The one on the top is my old phone, the K800i released by Sony Ericsson and the bottom is my new phone, the KP500, LG Cookie.

After testing out the KP500 for a full 24hrs, i have found that this phone is a lot more fun to use. Although i personally don't promote "fun" on a cellphone since i think that cell phones are just for quick camera, calling, texting, and time checking, which is why i was reluctant to change my phone for about three years. But the LG Cookie changed my ways of thinking, you can do all of that, more colorfully and most stylish.

Personally, the k800i still ranks a bit higher for me because of its quick 3.2megapixels of poonage, it's design that fits perfectly in my hands, and everything that i would ever ask for in a phone, timer, alarm, calling capabilities, texting, and a large digital clock. But i expect that once i get more familiar with the LG Cookie, it will quickly become my favorite because of it's style and capabilities. Although there are some things that i would still want from my k800i, like a timer for when i do my laundry... but i can live without that.

The LG Cookie has a 3megapixel camera, which is one of the main reasons that i picked this phone. My old k800i had an unmatched 3.2mp sony cybershot camera built into it, unmatched at the time and even now, 3 years after its release, RARELY matched. I've tried many phones since i baught my k800i but i still preferred it overanything else, the technology was out of date but the basic functions still reigned supreme over all other phones, which is what you will ever really need. people have suggested that i get an iphone *coughcough* but i feel that i don't have a need to play the piano in class or when i'm driving. And even the blackberry, i like it, a lot, but it's just too overpowering for a college student.

I often think of this LG Cookie as an asian iphone, but after using it, i have found that it isn't quite an iphone in a large way, the applications are less kiddy and the way that you can customize it is like an asian persons dreams. Think of it like this, it's a more practical iphone (one with all the shit taken out and left in it is the programs that you would actually use in everyday life) plus capabilities that are about to rival that of the Sony Ericsson.

This phone cost me the same as when i got my k800i 3 years ago and i would probably also keep this for quite a long time until i find something better, probably on the Sony Ericsson line again, i still can't accept the fact that my phone (and most LG phones) are named after such riddiculous names that a fat kid probably thought up of.

The LG Cookie is yet to be released in the states though, i had to order mine from the Hong Kong market which gets their stuff from the Japanese market first.
If you need hundreds of applications on your phone so that it might make your dick look bigger, choose the iphone. If you need just a phone with enhanced capabilities, choose Sony Ericsson phones. If you need an everyday practical phone (good capabilities + just a bit of fun) look forward to the american release of the LG Cookie or even order it from Hong Kong, i predict that the prices will be jacked up in the states when it is released.

i would NEVER get an iphone,

HakoneDayDreamer, i'm starting to like my new phone more and more ^^v

Edit: 6:32pm Same day - The k800i was ready for the 3G system when it was first released into the american market 3 years ago. The LG Cookie is not. that's one of the biggest flaws that i've noticed about the Cookie thus far.
