V: Vietnam overview

Log start: 8:11pm (China) January 12th 2009

Ok, so i ended my vietnam tour a while back, but i had no internet service there... although i made 9 video logs about vietnam and some of the things i write on this entry might be sort of a repeat, i'll write it anyway! just because it's my blog :D

Unless i had some business there, unless i'm there because my future wife/gf REALLY wants to go there, unless my family WANTS to go there again, unless i was insane, unless i'm forced to go there. i will not go back.

Vietnam is REALLY unmodernized and i swore i saw an opium farm on the way to Hanoi. It's dirty, people are dirty (even my family there), the street's conditions are HORRIBLE, there are TOO many people and people don't know how to utilize space correctly.

The car's horns sound funny, the people look funny, the language is kind of funny, and the food isn't all that clean. Yes, if you look VERY carefully, you'll find select dishes that are only available in Vietnam. Everything else i GUARANTEE you that you can find in Hong Kong Supermarket (or Gold city supermarket for you Flushing, new york people like me) or any other asian supermarket in the states. and guess what, it'll taste 10x better than it does when it's made in vietnam. all the pesticide spraying and harmful chemicals that were banned in the US about 30 years ago they probably still use here. The only thing that is better than exceptional there is probably the tea. and if your taste buds aren't right, that's horrible too. their main production is this bitter tea which gets sweet as you drink it... i'd rather just drink some chinese tea which is already sweet. no need for the bitter part, tyvm.

Yeah sure, if you listen to the young females speak vietnamese it kind of is a little of a turn on, thank you again mr russel peters, but other than that. FAIL.

there are numbers for prostitutes spray painted on all the walls instead of graffiti and i bet they all have aids. all of the hotels have a stash of 50 condoms in the drawers to prevent aids. but aids is still large in the country...

a the pollution. God... the pollution... you NEVER see blue sky, you get to see it once in a blue moon and then the pollution covers it up. there's sand everywhere, there's CO2 everywhere. People say that the US houses a lot of pollution. I shit you not. This country is more fucking pollution that all of the southern states combined. You don't even get to see the sun set on the horizon and the sunlight is covered by smog already 30mins to 1hr before the sun actually sets.

Yes, there are SOME tourists spots that are international quality. Some are VERY good. but it still doesn't weigh out all the bad things.

Bottom line. NEVER. setting foot in that country again unless it's for something of the UTMOST importance.

Uploading beijing video logs soon.

From the desk of someone who almost kissed the chinese floor when i went back to china,

HakoneDayDreamer, NEVER!
